In this post, the personal years 3 and 4 will be discussed. A quick reminder that personal years are part of reinvention cycles as defined by Pythagoras and you can think of it as the energy of your year. We move through these nine year reinvention cycles throughout our lives.
If you are wondering what your personal year is, simply add together the month and day of your birth with the current year. Mine looks like this: December 30 = 12 + 30 + 2015 = 2057 = 2+0+5+7 = 14 = 1+4 = 5. 2015 is a personal year 5 for me. Remember, personal years run January to December with the calendar, not birthday to birthday. 2013 was a personal year 3 for me (December 30 = 12 + 30 + 2013 = 2055 = 12 = 3). A personal year 3 is a creative, social year. A year full of ideas, creative downloads and distractions! I often call a personal year 3 the shiny penny year. Think of yourself as a social butterfly going from event to event with lots of ideas, lots of distractions, and very little focus. You will need to find a way to focus and express the creative energy in a personal year 3. That's the core of the number 3, creative expression. In 2013, I was full of ideas! I was walking regularly and nearly had to carry a pen and paper with me so that I could capture the ideas running through my head. It was also a year of travel: Mazatlán Mexico in March, Disney World in June and a Wine Cruise through England, France, Spain and Portugal in October. It was the year I discover the Camino de Santiago and added it to my bucket list. Who knew when I first started reading about it in April, I would have the opportunity to visit the end point, the Cathedral de Santiago de Compostela when I was in Spain in October. Coincidence? Nope. I love the way the Universe works for our greatest good. I didn't do a lot of writing in 2013, I was saving it for 2014! 2014 was a personal year 4 for me (December 30 = 12 + 30 + 2014 = 2056 = 13 = 4). A personal year 4 is a year of hard work moving you closer to your dreams and goals. It's a foundational year in the cycle. Just think of the 4 corners of a square or a house. The four corners form the foundation from which to build. That's the essence of the number 4, hard work and foundation. In 2014, I started writing! Talk about hard work! The Real Life Spark newsletter started in January of 2014. I also wrote My Seasons of Transformation and Transformation through Volunteerism. Both will be published by the end of 2015 (the first in Women Living Consciously, Vol II and the latter in Keys to a Good Life). There was some travel involved - visit to the Ranch and a trip to Scotland. It was a year where I started to find my voice and move my life in the direction that I wanted. Foundational work at its best. What's going on in your current reinvention cycle? What's your personal year? Any questions, post them in the comments below and we can discuss. Next post is 2015, my personal year 5. Stay tuned. Wishing you peace, love and sparks of inspiration! Deb

We are less than two weeks to Thanksgiving and the start of the holiday season. It's a time for family and friends and being thankful for all the blessings in our lives.
I love November. The main reason is that I LOVE Thanksgiving. The days get shorter and the weather is changeable: the days are warm, the nights are cold and the wind blows away the end of the leaves. My favorite time of day is twilight as dusk become night and there is a little glow left from the sun. The sky is so beautiful. If I happen to look through the leafless trees during twilight and see that beautiful sky, I am always transported back to my childhood. It's a somewhat silly memory but I love it. It's a day when I could walk home from school (I normally took the bus) and go to the local library. On this day, I sat on the floor between the shelves of the library, reading Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators. (I've always loved Hitch) When it was time to walk home, I walked along the sidewalk avoiding the overgrown bushes, kicking the last of the leaves and feeling pretty damn independent. It was a 15 minute, uneventful walk, but I can still feel the cool air and smell the leaves. It makes me smile. What memories will you create this month? Let's create great memories with our friends and families and spread the love. Wishing you peace, love and sparks of inspiration, Deb My blog posts in May 2015 were about Reinvention (R is for Reinvention and Reinvention Revisited). I discussed reinvention cycles as defined by Pythagoras and briefly defined the meaning of each year in our 9 year reinvention cycles.
For the next few posts, I thought it would be useful (and fun) to work through the personal years in my current reinvention cycle. It will provide insight into what happened to me in each year and breathe a little life into the definitions. The beginning of my current reinvention cycle and my personal year 1 was 2011. (12+30+2011=2053=2+0+5+3=10=1+0=1). My life in 2011 was pretty interesting. I retired at the end of 2010 and didn't have a plan for 2011 or beyond. It really was a new beginning and that's the simple definition of a personal year 1 - a new beginning. It's time to plant seeds that will grow over the next 9 years. It's also a year where you will work alone and own your strength. I experienced all of this in 2011. The events of my personal year 9 (2010) and 1 (2011) are the basis for the article "My Seasons of Transformation" in Women Living Consciously, Book II; my journey from executive to entrepreneur. 2011 was also my year of serial volunteerism and is the basis of the article "Volunteer to Transform" in the upcoming book Keys to a Good Life: Wisdom to Unlock Your Power Within (expected publication December 2015). 2012 was a personal year 11 for me. Did I write 11? Shouldn't it be 2? Let's make Pythagoras proud and do the math: December 30 2012 = 12 + 30 + 2012 = 2054 = 11, and if we reduce it further, you know the 11 is also a 2. 11 is a special number with a higher energetic vibration, therefore we don't reduce it to a single digit. A personal year 11 is a year of Divine Illumination! A year for inspired downloads of information, a year of transformation, a year of love and relationships and a year when you are highly intuitive! And I experienced most of that during 2012. For all the calls I made to friends and colleagues in 2011 who did not return them (because you work alone in a PY1), my phone rang non-stop in 2012 and I began growing a network of friends and colleagues to support Real Life Spark! It was the year I personally transformed from retired executive to entrepreneur and created Wilber Consulting LLC now Real Life Spark! I also turned 50 in 2012 and I exercised my intuition non-stop. There were lots of new friends and new business relationships that continue to encourage me each day! It was good year. I find it challenging to be present with my personal year all the time. I typically remind myself of the energy of my personal year when something goes right or when something goes wrong. And it's great fun to look back on your reinvention cycles and recall the big events of each year and review them through the lens of the personal year and reinvention cycles. Next post: 2013 and 2014, Personal Years 3 and 4. Stay tuned for more fun. Please post observations and questions below! Wishing you peace, love and sparks of reinvention! Deb It's time to talk intuition again, one of my favorite topics! From my June 5, 2015 post, let's recap: "As a Professional Intuitive Coach and a student of intuition, I know that intuition is the ultimate GPS for your unique road map to this life experience. It has all the answers and all the guidance you will need. We simply need to tune into our intuition and pay attention. When you ask yourself 'why am I here' or what is my life's purpose?' Get quiet and listen to your heart. What are the messages you are hearing? What are the signs you are seeing? What are the feelings you are feeling?"
If you are not familiar with your intuition, the good news is there are resources to help you recognize and strengthen your intuitive abilities. I have always been aware and tried to follow my intuition. Sometimes our logical mind gets in the way of our intuitive mind. The more I study, practice and use my intuition the stronger it gets and the more confident I am in following it. This year I was introduced to the work of Simone Wright and her book "First Intelligence: Using the Science and Spirit of Intuition". I read the book during April and May. I had the opportunity to attend a full day workshop with Simone in October. It was an informative and interactive workshop where we discussed intuition and completed intuition exercises to gain a better understanding. Simone describes the components of intuition, in her book, as the Intuition Triad: Peace, Precision and Perception.
I often write about paying attention and the signs that appear for me. My maternal grandmother's hallmarks are pennies and rice pudding. My paternal grandparents are a pair of cardinals that fly in front of me while driving or walking. It's pretty cool when you know the signs. But what do the signs mean? How can you tell that it's a sign. That's where your intuition comes into play. What are the intentions you are setting or questions you are asking? Your intuition needs focus. Your can set your intention through conscious or subconscious thoughts or even in writing in your journal. We each have a unique way of communicating with our intuition. Once your intuition has focus, what are you noticing? Are you aware of your thoughts? Do they contain the information. Do you hear a song on the radio where the title or lyrics spark a thought? Remember, your intuition can be a flash of insight or feeling. It can happen quickly; pay attention. My experience is that my grandparents are usually bring me comforting thoughts about an issue I have. When I see the cardinals, I let the issue go. My grandmother brings me love. When I need a hug or a little extra love, I find a penny in my path or notice rice pudding. I feel the love. I challenge you to use your intuition. Give it focus by setting your intention. It can be a simple question, for example, where should I go for dinner tonight? Once you have set your intention, pay attention to everything, the people you meet, the songs on the radio, the ads on television, etc. What catches your eye? Once you have an answer, try it on. Imagine yourself at the chosen restaurant, how do you feel? Does it feel good? You can make a intuitive choice. Share your experiences in the comments below. Wishing you peace, love and sparks of intuition! Deb |
