Happy Anniversary to Wilber Consulting, LLC and Real Life Spark! It was three years ago on Valentine's Day that I officially formed my company and started planning. It's been an exciting three years.
I recently completed Human Design Level One certification and will incorporate Human Design into my practice. It will be another tool in my toolkit! Human Design is a relatively new system of personality analysis that combines the elements of Eastern and Western Astrology, the Chinese I'Ching, the Kabbalah (Tree of Life), the Hindu Chakra system and modern quantum physics! If you would like to learn more about Human Design, send me a note. Have you been over to my blog? I started blogging in January and by February created a plan that I hope will provide inspiring information for your journey. For the first half of the year, I will be blogging about SPARK, an an acronym I created to remind us of the components of our purpose! Earlier this month we learned that S stands for Story! Later in the month, I will write about a tool to help you write your Story. During the second half of the year, I will write about Reinvention Cycles and take you through my current 9 year cycle, starting with my Personal Year 1 in 2011. We will learn about Reinvention Cycles in May because R stands for Reinvention! I hope you stay tuned, read the blog and share it with your friends. Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb

What's your SPARK? Do you know what SPARK is? I recently created an acronym for SPARK to use in workshops and to assist in the understanding of SPARK! The simple definition for me is SPARK is your life's purpose. Defining your life's purpose is never simple. It is always journey, one to be embraced and enjoyed. I will discuss the SPARK acronym, one letter at a time over the next couple of months. Here we go...
S stands for STORY! What's your story? We all have one. Where did you grow up? How many siblings do you have? Did you go to college? Are you married? etc... This is the starting point, the facts of your story. But let's move deeper. What are your talents and gifts? What are the things that you do really well and bring great joy to your life? There are no rules here...it's your story. Take a minute to think about your talent and gifts. Are you a great listener? Cook? Writer? Comic? What are those things that 'light you up'? cause you to 'lose track of time'? that you 'can't stop thinking about'? If this is your first time asking yourself these questions, write down a few thoughts and come back to it. Meditate on this question. Remember it's a journey. What are your challenges? We all have them and typically we are not shy about listing them. Maybe you don't think you are good at math, or speaking in public, or cooking. Again, there are no rules here to say you must be good at math or an excellent cook unless your goal is to be an engineer or a chef! Obviously, I am oversimplifying this example. The point is to acknowledge your challenges and put them in perspective. If you have a challenge that appears to be an obstacle to your goals, reflect upon it and if necessary, create a plan to turn it from a challenge to a talent. It's how we grow on our journey. All the events of our lives have an impact. The good, the bad and even the ugly contribute to our story. The good events typically add to our confidence and clarity. The bad or ugly events usually do the opposite. It's the painful events that provide us with an opportunity to grow. Often when we reflect on our lives and recall the painful times, we can get stuck or dwell on the past and what we could have or should have done differently. This is the time to remember that everything happens for a reason. I know this can sound trite or even harsh, especially when you are in the moment. I believe in my heart this is true - everything happens for a reason. And when we are ready to learn and grow from our painful experiences we blossom. We have the fuel and energy to take the next step on our journey. So, what's your story? I encourage you to find a notebook or start a new document on your computer and begin reflecting and writing about these questions and your story. Stay tuned... Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb My journey with meditation began a little more than three years ago. Prior to Intuitive Coach training, my experience with meditation had been in a yoga class or a few minutes at Rancho La Puerta on vacation. During coach training, we practiced a method of meditation that allowed our 'monkey mind' or active, logical left brain to be occupied, opening up the right brain to receive intuitive information. And it worked! I needed to know more.
I started to read everything I could about meditation and started to practice different forms - walking meditation, mantra meditation, prayer meditation...you get the picture. I also attended a "Learn to Meditate" class at the Shambhala Meditation Center in New York City. It was an interesting experience and one I recommend. I love being exposed to and learning new things. At the point when I was overwhelmed with information and types of meditation, I came to the conclusion that no one method of meditation was right or wrong. I could create a practice that supported me. It's called a meditation practice for a reason...it takes practice to sit still for any length of time. My goal is to sit in meditation for 20 minutes each day. When I honor my practice, the rest of my day is more balanced and in tune. And when I don't, I can feel the difference and I am a bit out of sync, which encourages me to find the time to meditate. Do you have a meditation practice or are you on a meditation journey with me - discovering the benefits of meditation through experience and incorporating it into your life. Think about it and stay tuned, more of my journey to follow. Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb Happy 2015!
I hope this fresh, new year is greeting you with happiness! In just two short weeks, I will be a published author! It's been an exciting journey. If you recall my June newsletter when I recounted the events of Friday the 13th, it was on that day that I read the email about becoming an author with Powerful You! Publishing and decided to take action. (June 2014 Newsletter) Seven months later, a chapter of my journey will be published in Women Living Consciously, Book 2. Me, a published author. It's something I never imagined, ever. I was also interviewed as a part of the companion telesummit and have contributed a tip to the ebook. Exciting and busy times. Click the links for more information about the telesummit, ebook and book! Be sure to visit my website for up-to-the-minute information. And don't forget to check out my new blog! Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb Welcome to Deb's Sparks!
I will be posting to this page on the 5th and 25th of each month, beginning today. I will also update this page on the 15th of the month with 'Deb's Sparks!' from the RLS newsletter. I hope you enjoy reading this page and find the information useful. Please feel free to leave comments, questions and ideas! It's interesting to me that today's date is 1/5/15 or 1515. The 5's catch my attention because in 2015, I will experience a personal year 5. What's that? If you have attended a workshop or class with me, you have heard me speak about Pythagoras and our 9 year re-invention cycles. A personal year 5 is a year full of fun, adventure, travel, new people and new possibilities! Sounds great, if you like change because the number 5 is also about change. I am halfway through this reinvention cycle which began in January 2011 and will conclude in December 2019. I have exciting things planned for 2015 and will remain open to all the people and possibilities that present themselves. If you would like me to calculate your personal year and provide a brief note about what that means for you, email me and provide your birth date (month, day and year). Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb Happy Holidays!
Is this really the twelfth issue of the Real Life Spark newsletter? In December of 2013, I set my intention to write a monthly newsletter in 2014 and with this issue, I have written 12 newsletters! I hope you have enjoyed reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them! The RLS newsletter will continue monthly in 2015. Thank you! There are exciting things planned for 2015:
Thank you for your support in 2014 and I wish you Peace, Love and Sparks this holiday season and a wonderful 2015! Deb Welcome to November and the Holiday Season! Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away and the start of one of the busiest times of the year.
It's been a busy Fall for me with Rummage, Scotland, Workshops, Home Projects and now the Holidays! I will be scheduling in my meditation practice otherwise it won't get done. And more than a few days this fall have escaped without meditationl. Be sure to find a few minutes for yourself this month. If you don't take care of yourself, you won't be able to take care of others. I am thankful for my family, friends and tribe. Thank You! Enjoy Thanksgiving! Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb It's October! I am writing this month's newsletter from Scotland and so far, its been a great trip. My plan was to finish my newsletter long before vacation but it's been a busy Fall.
My favorite volunteer activity - RUMMAGE - occurred in September with the sale during the first weekend in October! It's always a lot of fun and hard work and usually delivers a couple of rummage treasures! Rummage always fills my heart (and empties my wallet)! Mark your calendar for the sale the first weekend in May and the first weekend in October. Scotland is a bucket list trip for me. So far, I have spent time in Edinburgh and Glasgow and when you read this I will be driving towards and through the Highlands and the Whisky Trail. The people are lovely and the castles and cathedrals are beautiful. I am surprised by the Harry Potter inspiration everywhere. I had tea at the Elephant House where JK Rowling wrote the Harry Potter books. Here's a picture of Edinburgh Castle! Amazing! Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb It's almost Fall! Only 6 days to the Autumnal Equinox and that means cool nights with the windows open, pumpkins and RUMMAGE! Yes, its time for Fall Rummage. By the next newsletter, Rummage will be over and I will be on vacation in Scotland. Whew, there is a lot to do in a month! It's time for me to organize and prioritize my lists but also remember, everything gets done in divine order. The universe always reminds me of the most important item on my list, even if I don't agree. I am going to take a deep breath and listen carefully.
Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb Welcome to the second half of August! The Summer is moving quickly towards Fall and I love the Fall! But I also love Summer and all of the fun that it brings. I finally made it to the beach. I want to enjoy every minute of Summer and recharge my battery. My motivation is low for sitting and writing as I would rather be outside enjoying Summer. As the saying goes "Physician, heal thyself"; this month's newsletter is about motivation.
Enjoy! Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb Welcome to July! Summer is in full swing, we are soaking in the beautiful weather and hopefully enjoying vacation with our family and friends. I love summer and it always brings back warm memories of growing up near the beach. I love the beach and the sun and the sand and the ocean waves.
And now that I am my own boss, it seems that summer is the time when I work on the next generation of my business. I update my website, service offerings, branding, etc. I have been working hard the past month on reframing my services, rebuilding my website and focusing on providing the best coaching services to meet my clients' needs. I hope you will take a few minutes to visit my website, review the coaching packages and refer a friend. I have a lot of exciting things coming up in the Fall and Winter! Please visit often. Enjoy the summer! Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb The official start of Summer is just around the corner! Let's stop for a minute and think of the seeds we planted in the Spring....thinking...thinking...OK, ready?
What seeds did you plant? It's now time to start harvesting the summer fruits of our dreams. My Spring was very busy with volunteer work and travel and family and of course, Real Life Spark. I was more focused on the present in the Spring than the future...but there were great flashes of intuition and inspiration. These ideas are my summer fruit. I have a busy summer ahead working on new services and packages, a refresh of my website and some writing that I have started. It's exciting to watch the Spring seeds of our dreams grow into Summer fruit! Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb It's been a busy month! Spring Rummage is here and gone along with my vacation to Rancho La Puerta! If you know me, you know I love 'The Ranch'. It's a 'destination spa' but its really like Summer Camp with a schedule of activities and friends but this Camp has spa treatments and fabulous food! I love the Ranch for the renewal is brings me - mind, body and spirit! I set a goal for myself each trip - a longer hike, a higher mountain, etc. This year my goal was the 7 mile breakfast hike. Mentally, I was ready. Physically, not so much. I started a new exercise routine that was problematic for my knees. I arrive at the Ranch on Saturday with puffy knees and start hiking, which only made things worse. But I was determined to go on that breakfast hike on Thursday. As Thursday approached, I knew it would not be a wise choice to attempt the hike. The good news is that I listened to my intuition and its physical signs (my aching knees) and opted for the Pilgrim Hike to the Sun Sculpture. The day of the Pilgrim Hike, the Santa Ana winds were blowing strong and by the time we got to the top of the mountain, it was a challenge to stand up to take the photo - my super short hair is standing up! I was happy that I listened to my body and my intuition and did not attempt the 7 mile hike (there is always next year!). How will you use your intuition today? Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb It's tax day, April 15th. I am thankful that I am 100% complete with taxes for this year! Spring is officially here - Passover and Easter are upon us. Spring renewal is in the air. It's also one of my favorite times of year: RUMMAGE! 2011 was my year of discovery, looking for my next opportunity. I spent time volunteering for numerous organizations until I found the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills and their famous rummage sale! I had attended in the past and knew it was fun but I had no idea the impact it would have on my life. In Fall 2011, Mom, Dad and I sign up. It's now Spring 2014 and I am the only one still 'rummaging'. It's a lot of work twice a year and it fills my heart with great joy! I love every minute of it! Rummage clothes/books/items are magical! When working with clients individually or in workshops, I often ask about volunteer work. It's a great way to give back and to bring joy into your life, while testing out a new goal or passion. If you love animals, volunteer at the local animal shelter. If you love to cook, volunteer at a soup kitchen or shelter. If you love to treasure hunt and shop, volunteer at a rummage sale! You get the idea - explore! When you are doing what you love, your path rises to meet you. The Universe sends you signs and affirmations. You meet interesting people. My "Rummage Sisters" are some of my greatest cheerleaders on this part of my journey! Find your cause! Donate your time. Fill your heart! Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb It's almost spring! As I am writing, the sun is shining and the temps are supposed to reach 50 in the Northeast. It's been a long cold Winter and I am ready for warmer temps and more sunshine!
Spring is a time of renewal. We prepare our gardens for new plants. We clean our closets and make donations. We celebrate Easter and Passover. We look forward to the growth we experience in Summer. What seeds are you planting? Spring arrives with the Vernal Equinox on March 20th. Take a few minutes to reflect upon your goals for the year. What seeds can you plant now that you can nurture in the Spring, grow through the Summer and harvest in the Fall? I am confident there is one step that you can take today that moves you closer to your goals. Why not work with the energy of the seasons to help you achieve your goals? One small step at a time. You can do it. Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb Happy Valentines Day! I have never been a big fan of Valentine's Day then the Universe stepped in 2 years ago when I was creating Wilber Consulting, LLC. The creation date is ...wait for it... February 14, 2012! I now LOVE Valentine's Day because it's the day that I became a small business owner! Happy second birthday Wilber Consulting, LLC!
It's been a snowy winter in the northeast and I am hopeful that we will be seeing signs of Spring by the March newsletter. I understand why birds fly south for the Winter. Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb Happy 2014! I love the feeling of a brand new year. Maybe its because my birthday is at the end of the year, but it always feels like a page turns on New Years Eve and a New Year and a fresh start are waiting for me!
I try not to get caught up in resolution making, but alas, I usually do. For 2014, I have resolved to publish a monthly newsletter! You can help me out with this resolution by providing feedback; by sharing the newsletter with your friends; and offering topics that you would find helpful and interesting to read. I am certain the form of the newsletter will evolve throughout the year as we go on this journey together! Peace, Love and Sparks! Deb 2013 was another year full of adventure! Travel adventures (Mexico and Europe!) Family adventures (Disney and Camp Aunt Debbie) and Business adventures (Real Life Spark and new skills!). I reconnected with many friends and continue to embrace each day with gratitude, because it is 'A Wonderful Life'! I wish you a fabulous 2014; full of abundance and gratitude. All my love, Deb.
"She wasn't where she had been...
She wasn't where she was going... but she was on her way" Dear family and friends, when I read this quote it immediately resonated. A lot has happened since the 2011 update and I am happy to report that I am on my way! Since last year's update: I have formed a company, created a website, added a certification, created a facebook page, tweeted, and learned the art of networking! It's hard work and I love it! You can find me at www.debwilber.com or Wilber Consulting on Facebook! This year's travels included Jamaica, Washington DC, the Jersey Shore, Mexico, Disney and Chicago! The Wilbers had a few health challenges this year but as 2012 draws to a close we are all healthy! I wish you health, happiness and peace in 2013. Love, Deb I hiked a mountain in 2011! OK, so it wasn't Mt Everest, but it was Mt Kuchumaa and it was an important personal goal. Here's the best description of my 2011: It started with the Winter of Indulgence - slept too much, ate too much, learned to play MahJong, you get the picture. This led to the Spring of Discipline where I joined Weight Watchers and started walking. I set a goal of losing 20 pounds and completing a mountain hike at the Ranch. Onto the Summer of Fun that included a family reunion, treks to the beach, Camp Aunt Debbie and the annual trip to Rancho LaPuerta, where I achieved both of my goals! The Ranch prepared me for the Fall of Discovery where I trained to be a Career Intuitive and discovered that I truly enjoy helping people find their life's work, in fact, its my life's work.
Now, I am writing a business plan and social media strategies. I have learned to meditate and everyday appreciate the gifts and opportunities that exist for all of us. I wish you a healthy and prosperous 2012. Thank you for your love and support on my journey. Stay tuned for more information about my new adventure, The Purposeful Intuitive. Love, Deb |
